Leewell Intelligence’s Joint Research Project Wins Special Award at National Equipment Management and Technological Innovation Achievements

        On July 22, 2025, the selection results of the 7th National Equipment Management and Technological Innovation Achievements, hosted by the China Association of Plant Engineering (CAPE), were officially released. The project, Research and Application of Fully Autonomous Key Technologies for Automated RMG, jointly developed by Leewell Intelligence  (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. and five other partners including Qingdao New Qianwan Container Terminal Co., Ltd. (QQCTN) won the “Special Award”-selected from 2,418 national entries (winning rate: 1.07%). 

       This marks the second national-level recognition for the project, following the First Prize in Science and Technology Award from China Ports & Harbours Association in 2024, underscoring Leewell’s leadership in port intelligentization.

2. Solving Critical Bottlenecks in Port Automation

Global trade growth has exposed efficiency and labor-cost challenges in traditional ports. RMGs, as core container-handling equipment, long faced automation technology monopolies by international giants.

Port operations demand extreme reliability: Even minor equipment failures can halt production lines, disrupting supply chains. Addressing high-precision positioning and intelligent fault tolerance, the project team built a domestic full-stack technological system, providing strategic support for safeguarding national logistics supply chain security.


3. Industry-Academia-Research Collaboration: A Model for Innovation

 With its profound expertise in intelligent control algorithms and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Leewell Intelligence provided the system with highly reliable edge computing modules and real-time data decision engines, serving as a key pillar for technology implementation.

The team established an intelligent O&M system integrating IoT, big data, cloud computing, and AI. This enables seamless coordination between equipment, personnel, and functional systems with capabilities for self-sensing, self-adaptation, and self-optimization,  raising port management to new intelligence levels.

(1) Operational Condition Data Interface Technology: Universal PLC communication modules support various communication protocols of mainstream PLC brands, enabling real-time synchronous collection of vibration data and PLC process parameters, significantly enhancing data correlation for deeper analysis.

(2) Self-adaptive Sampling Technology: A self-adaptive algorithm adjusts sampling frequency based on real-time conditions, ensuring high-quality vibration data collection and boosting fault diagnosis and analysis accuracy.

(3) Operational Condition-Based Intelligent Fault Diagnosis Technology: Machine learning models precisely identify faults and predict remaining equipment life under complex variable conditions.
